These are essential fatty acids that are associated with low levels of unhealthy LDL cholesterol and high levels of healthy HDL cholesterol.  As a result, monounsaturated fat intake in cashew is associated with a lower risk of heart disease (Chris-Atherton, 1999).

2. Cashew's rich fat content (mostly heart-healthy fats!) Makes them an ideal substitute for heavy creams.  Like all nuts, cashews provide an excellent source of protein. Protein is one of three macronutrients your body uses for energy, and is particularly important for rebuilding muscle tissue and making various cellular compounds.  Also, eating protein helps you avoid starving between meals, allowing you to plan a healthy meal.

3.  Apart from high amounts of copper, cashews are a great source of zinc.  Failing to get enough zinc makes your immune system functional, as this mineral is important for the growth of immune system cells, production of antioxidant enzymes, and activity of immune system regulators.  Each 1-ounce serving of cashews provides 1.6 milligrams of zinc.

4.
